Chair’s Report 2025/2026
The Chair of Compton Parish Council delivered his annual report at the Annual Parish Meeting on 16th March, 2026, which you can read here.
Compton is one of several villages in England to share this historic name - but ours is nestled high in the beautiful chalk landscapes of the North Wessex Downs, a designated National Landscape (formerly known as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). Located within the administrative area of West Berkshire Council, the village lies in a sheltered hollow of rolling downland, rich in natural charm and rural character. With a strong sense of community, a long local history, and easy access to the countryside, Compton offers a unique blend of tranquility and heritage at the heart of southern England.
