Improving Our Water Pipes
We’ll soon be replacing our water pipes in Cow Lane. The new pipe is much stronger and will ensure that we continue to provide a top-quality service.
When we’re working
We’re planning to work from Monday 29 July 2024 until Wednesday 6 November 2024. Our working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. If this changes, we’ll let you know in advance.
How you’re affected
- The works will begin on Cow Lane from the junction with the High Street and continue up to the entrance of the Thames Water Treatments works. This will be in 3 phases:-
Phase 1 – Cow Lane between Abingdon Rd and Broad Street – 29/7/24 – 6/9/2024
Phase 2 – Compton Rd between Broad St and Allot Gardens – 5/8/2024 – 30/8/2024 – road closure
Phase 3 – Compton Rd between Allot Gardens and Sunrise Hill – 31/8/2024 – 6/11/2024
- Church Hill will not be accessible via Cow Lane whilst these works are ongoing and diversion routes will be clearly marked.
- When possible, we will keep Cow Lane accessible with 2-way lights.
- We’ll be using road steel plates to cover our excavations where possible to allow access required by residents, bin collection and emergency vehicles.
Our delivery partner for the work will be Morrison Water Services, who will be carrying out this essential work on our behalf. Our site team will be wearing Thames Water personal protective clothing.
We’re not planning to turn off your water, but if you notice any changes, please let us know by calling 0800 316 9800, selecting option one and quoting the above reference number.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience you may experience, and we’ll do everything we can to keep noise and disruption to a minimum.
