West Berkshire Council has opened a public consultation on proposed amendments to parking restrictions across the district, including several locations in Compton.
The proposals include updates to existing parking plans and the introduction of new plans. For Compton, the amendments relate to:
- AV24 – Road south of Fairfield: Extension of existing No Waiting at Any Time restrictions by 25 metres to prevent vehicles parking too close to the brow of the hill, addressing road safety concerns.
- AW24 – Burrell Road, School Road and Shepherds Mount: Introduction of No Waiting at Any Time restrictions at the east end of Burrell Road (School Road) and at its junction with Shepherds Mount, providing junction protection and improving road safety.
Residents and road users are invited to review the proposed changes and submit comments before the consultation closes on 30th October 2026. Full details, including maps of the affected areas, are available on West Berkshire Council’s website.
