Committees

Committees are formally constituted and operate under agreed Terms of Reference. They meet in public, with agendas published in advance, and report to full council.

Planning Committee
This committee only convenes when a planning application cannot be reviewed by the full council due to statutory response deadlines. It ensures timely consideration of applications when scheduling constraints apply.

Personnel Committee
Oversees staffing matters, including recruitment, contracts, and performance.

Working Parties

Working parties are informal groups set up to explore specific projects or areas of interest. They do not have delegated decision-making powers and do not meet in public. Notes may be shared with council as appropriate, but agendas are not issued.

Burial Ground Working Party
Supports the development and subsequent management of the parish burial ground.

Institute Working Party
Reviews the development of the Institute site, including matters relating to the transfer of assets from the site.

Planning Working Party
Assists with research and preparation for planning matters, complementing the formal committee. Membership of this working party must mirror that of the Planning Committee.

Sports Pavilion Working Party
Explores options for maintaining and enhancing the sports pavilion.
