Thames Water is set to begin major infrastructure works to improve water supply resilience in East Ilsley.

Starting Monday, 23 June 2025, Thames Water will replace ageing cast iron water mains with modern polyethylene pipes, reducing the risk of burst pipes and leaks. The project is expected to last 10 weeks, with completion scheduled around Monday, 2 September 2025.

Project Timeline & Traffic Management

The works will be carried out in two phases:

  • Phase 1 (23 June – 29 July): Cow Lane (Abingdon Road to Broad Street) – single-lane closure with managed access.
  • Phase 2 (23 July – 2 September): Compton Road (Broad Street to Summerdown Stables) – full road closure with diversion in place.

Thames Water has ensured local residents and businesses are informed by distributing detailed letters outlining traffic management plans.
