Closure of Compton Road – Public Bus arrangements
Read more information from West Berkshire Council on the changes to the bus service as a result of the closure of Compton Road, East Ilsley, from 23rd July to 2nd September 2025.

Compton Road is to be closed for utility works from 23 July to 2 September 2025, during this time the 6/6a public bus service will be amended.
The 6/6a service will terminate at The Swan in Compton and will not be able to serve East/West Ilsley, further information about the changes to the timetable during this time have been published on Newbury & District’s website at the following link East Ilsley road closure – Newbury & District.
West Berkshire Council Transport Services Team will be operating a Monday to Friday shuttle bus service (and on-demand service) from 24 July 2025 between Newbury and East and West Ilsley during this time.
