Road Closure – School Road, 9-22 November 2026

We have received the following information from Thames Water:

As work on our Compton Infiltration Management Project continues, I wanted to make you aware of the next phase of planned wastewater network improvement works in the village.

We’re currently issuing customer letters to residents and businesses affected by upcoming works on School Road, Compton, which are scheduled to take place between 9 November and 22 November 2026.

As part of these improvements, we’ll be carrying out sewer lining and sealing works to help reduce groundwater entering the wastewater network during wet weather. This will help improve the performance of the local sewer network and support our efforts to reduce the risk of storm overflows.

In line with the agreed traffic management arrangements and permit conditions with West Berkshire Council Highways, School Road will be closed during working hours while these works are carried out. A signed diversion route will be in place throughout the closure, and the works have been scheduled to help minimise disruption during local school drop-off and pick-up periods.

Current working hours are:

• Monday to Friday: 9am to 2.30pm
• Weekends (if required): 9am to 4pm

Pedestrian access, residential access and access for emergency services will be maintained throughout the works.
