New Bus Shelter Installed – Remembrance Bench Update

We’re pleased to confirm that the new bus shelter on Compton High Street has now been installed, following many years of resident requests. The project was funded through a grant from West Berkshire Council, who approved both the location and the appointed contractor.

To enable installation, the Remembrance bench previously located at the site had to be temporarily removed. During this process, the installation team identified that some remedial work is required to ensure the bench can be safely reinstated nearby.

We understand the significance of this bench to the community and want to reassure residents that it will be returned as soon as the necessary work is complete. We appreciate your patience and support as we carry out this improvement.
