Thames Water Compton Infiltration Management Project
Thames Water has provided information on upcoming works to manage groundwater infiltration of the wastewater network within the village. There will be a community information session on Thursday 23rd July.

Thames Water has provided the following information:
I am writing to make you aware of an upcoming Thames Water project within the Compton area and to advise that customer communications have now been issued to residents and are expected to arrive this week.
As part of our ongoing investment programme, we are carrying out the Compton Infiltration Management Project across the wider Compton catchment. The project aims to reduce groundwater entering the wastewater network during wet weather, helping to improve sewer resilience and reduce the risk of storm overflows.
Summary of works:
- Wastewater network surveys and investigations across the Compton catchment
- CCTV sewer inspections and manhole investigations
- Sewer lining and manhole sealing works where required
- Works delivered in phases between July 2026 and August 2027
- Temporary traffic management may be required at some locations throughout the programme
Two versions of the letters of notice have been distributed:
- A Survey Area letter for customers within locations where additional drainage and connectivity investigations may be required.
- A Wider Catchment letter providing general awareness of the project and planned improvement works across the wider Compton area.
Residents have also been invited to attend a community information session:
